Terms of Use

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the app and official website provided by the operator of Tabete. Please read and agree to them before using the service. If you are a minor, please obtain consent from a parent or other legal representative.

2. What Tabete offers

Tabete lets you import recipes from social posts and photos, organize them into menus, and use them with members of your home. Please check the app for available features and limits, including import allowances.

3. Accounts and homes

You can start using Tabete without signing up with Apple. To keep access to your data when changing devices, sign up with Apple in the app. If you lose your device or sign-in information before signing up, you may not be able to regain access to the same account.

Keep your device and sign-in information secure. Share home invitation links only with people you want to invite.

Recipes, photos and menus in a home are shared with its members. Please coordinate with each other about what you share and edit.

4. Importing recipes and cooking

Tabete uses AI to read recipes. Errors and omissions can occur, so please check ingredients, amounts and steps against the original post or photo. Estimated values, including calories, are approximate.

Take particular care with safety matters such as allergies, cooking times and food storage. Tabete does not guarantee the accuracy of imported information or that a dish is safe for every person.

Changes to a social platform’s settings or features, or the removal of a post, may prevent imports or access to the original post.

5. Rights to recipes and photos

Rights to saved text, photos, videos and other content belong to their creators or other rights holders. Only import or share content you own, have permission to use, or may lawfully use. A publicly available post is not necessarily free to reproduce. Please also check the source platform’s terms.

When you submit content you have rights to, you allow the operator and its service providers to use it without charge as needed to provide Tabete, including storage, analysis, display and sharing within your home. Ownership of the content does not transfer to the operator.

Rights to Tabete’s logos, designs and other materials belong to the operator or their respective rights holders.

6. Tabete Pro

Tabete Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the App Store. Check the purchase screen for its price, duration and included features. You will be charged for each selected subscription period until you stop automatic renewal.

To stop renewal, open Settings on your iPhone, then your name → Subscriptions → Tabete. Deleting the app or signing out does not cancel your subscription. See Apple’s cancellation instructions for details.

To request a refund, follow Apple’s refund instructions. Refund eligibility is subject to Apple’s terms and applicable law.

7. Leaving a home and deleting your account

You can leave a home or delete your account in the app. Before deleting your account, stop automatic renewal of any active subscription. After deleting your account, you will no longer be able to use any remaining Pro subscription time on that account.

Recipes, photos and other shared data remain in homes with other members after you leave or delete your account. If you delete your account, the link to your account is removed, but the content of photos and text remains. A home is deleted when its last member leaves or deletes their account.

8. Using Tabete responsibly

Please do not:

• Break the law or infringe another person’s copyright, privacy or other rights
• Impersonate or harass others, or access another person’s account without authorization
• Improperly bypass usage limits or place an excessive load on the service

If there is a violation or safety concern, we may take necessary measures appropriate to the situation, including restricting use or removing the relevant content.

9. Service changes, interruptions and liability

Tabete may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, outages or issues with external services. We will give advance notice in the app or on the official website of major feature changes or the end of the service, except where advance notice is not possible, such as an emergency outage.

We strive to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. The operator’s liability for damages is governed by applicable laws, including Japan’s Civil Code and Consumer Contract Act.

10. Changes to these terms and contact

These terms are interpreted under Japanese law. When changes are necessary, we will announce them and their effective date in the app or on the official website in accordance with the law. We will request your consent again when required.
